Segs4Vets is an unprecedented grass-roots effort sustained and administered by volunteers representing grateful Americans, who passionately believe that when those serving our nation are sent into harm’s way and suffer serious injury and permanent disability they must have every resource and tool available to them, which will allow them to fulfill their dreams and live the highest quality of life possible. Candidates for the Segs4Vets program have sustained injuries which have resulted in the amputation of one or both legs, extensive soft tissue and muscle injuries, traumatic burn injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological injuries and disorders.....more
Every year, the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and the Office of the Secretary of Defense each nominate one individual or organization whose patriotism and service to members of the United States Armed Forces reflects the patriotism and service of Bob Hope. The recipients selflessly contributed an extraordinary amount of time, talent or resources to significantly enhance the quality of life of service members and their families serving around the world, and epitomize the values of Bob Hope:

It is my distinct privilege to advise you that Segs4Vets has been selected by the Office of the Secretary of Defense to receive their 2010 Spirit of Hope Award which will presented in ceremonies at the Pentagon on November 15, 2011.
